In anticipation of an upcoming dental college, a fully fledged dental clinic was started in January 2005 with six specialities.

• Orthodontics
• Periodontics
Now we take pride in having a Dental Clinic run by an excellent and committed team of reputed faculty members, specialist doctors and guidance from senior eminent professors from different fields. This endures a steady flow of patients which is absolutely vital for our students training.
In addition to the different branches of dentistry, a major component in the first year of BDS are the basic three sciences namely Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry, integration of these sciences are an absolute must for a student to learn and understand the human body's structure constitution functioning.
Each and every department of the college is well poised to mould each student in to a finely tuned dental surgeon who will be able to ultimately apply the knowledge of dentistry in the best interest of the patient and community. This will ensure that they will maintain a high standard of professional ethics. In addition to basic clinical training a definite thrust will be on the research and development of new aspects of dentistry.
Each graduate student of this institution will be guided by eminent faculty right from honing sharp diagnostic and treatment skills and at the same time importance will be given on the sociological aspects of health particularly oral health care for the different sections of society.
Oral Medicine and Radiology
The patients are screened in this department and diagnosis is made with the most modern diagnostic aids and sophisticated Radiographic equipment, like OPG and lateral ceph.
A well equipped clinical Pathology lab is attached to this department where routine Homological and various pertinent investigations are carried out for the different diagnosis, treatment plan and surgical management.
Special care is laid out for infection and cross infection control. We have a central sterilization facility with efficient auto cloves, ultrasonic cleaners etc. In addition we have chair side and clinical side sterilization in order to ensure and safeguard the quality of treatment extended to the patients.
Dental Material Lab
Here the students are trained in the vitro analysis of manipulation of variables of various materials used in the profession. The science of Dental Materials is the foundation base of Dentistry.
Dental Museum
A well exhibited dental museum with painting charts specimens and instruments will made available to students along with the phantom head lab.
Maxillofacial surgery
The department lays emphasis on the various maxillofacial problems lice infection, injuries deformities of teeth and jaws and associated structures, extraction of teeth, minor oral surgical procedures, trauma reduction orthognathic surgery are carried out skillfully with emphasis in proper anaesthetic absolute sterilized conditions.
Oral and Maxillofacial Prosthodonlics and Implantlogy
This department deals with, Diagnosis, treatment, Replacement of missing teeth and associated structures like removable partial denture/ Crown &Bridge, Maxillofacial prosthesis according to the needs of patients.

With sophisticated equipments like Bego induction casting centrifugal casting surveyors, steam cleaners; vacuum mixing machines, ceramic furnaces, Wax burn out furnaces sandblaster machine, Electro polishers, and milling machine etc.
Orthodontics
Diagnosis of various malocclusion categories, planning, execution of preventive and interceptive orthodontics management and correction of malocclusion aberrations in growth processes of both dental and skeletal are meticulously carried out with extreme care and maintenance and periodic check up mandatory.
Periodontics
Here the maintenance of Oral Health, role and scope of oral physiotherapy measures, patient education programme, preventive dentistry, flouride therapy are given due importance along with the regular treatment of gingival periodontal and occlusal disturbances.
Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics
This department deals with the conservation and restoration of decayed and missing parts of teeth aiming at form, function and aesthetics.
Aesthetic dentistry wins the hearts of patients by integrating art and science of dentistry through ceramic veneers, crowns, bleaching and tooth coloured restorations.
Endodontic and surgical management of fractured, abscessed malformed discoloured painful teeth are carried out by experienced and skilled professionals with strict infection control measurement
With recent advancements of surgical microscopes, RVG etc treatment can be timely execution effectively.
Anatomy
Anatomy is the one of the basic subject of first year BDS. KMCT Dental College has a well equipped anatomy Department. It has a vast dissection hall and Histology Lab and a well exhibited Museum. Dissection hall is provided with sufficient cadavers of the anatomy lab and it possesses an embalming unit The anatomy museum is vast having a large number of dissected specimens and body organs arranged in sequence.
Along with this enough of articulated and disarticulated skeletons are provided for better perception of the skeletal framework of the body.
High quality equipment slides, charts, models are the facilities provided in the histology Lab. Periodic seminars and group discussions are conducted in order to improve the learning skills so that it can be applied in the clinical scenario.
Physiology
This
is one of the basic sciences covered in the first year BDS. Physiology is the study of dynamic inter-relationship among different tissues and organs which is mostly carried out the organism level. The knowledge of physiology is important to appreciate the role of mechanism that control bodily functions. Clinical physiology and applied physiology is a must in the curriculum. This department has two main sections
• Physiology
• Experimental Physiology
State of art equipment and experienced faculty facilitate good training of the students.
Biochemistry
Biochemistry deals with the chemical basis of life namely Metabolism, Nutrition, Homeostasis Mechanism, Molecular Biology and Clinical Biochemistry. The study of the Biochemistry is essential to understand the basic functions of the body. It is necessary to give scientific basis for disease and is useful for the treatment and Prognosis. At the end of the first year training the student will attain the ability to biochemically analyse the basis of life and disease.
