Responsibilities
Mandate and scope of work
- 1 Promote access to the library’s services and informational resources for all users.
- 2 Provide appropriate documentation services and regularly update the library's collection.
- 3 Work towards the modernization and improvement of both the library and its documentation services.
- 4 Formulate policies and procedures to ensure the effective use of all library resources.
- 5 Implement measures to increase the number of readers and overall library usage.
- 6 Prepare a budget detailing the book requirements for each academic department and submit it to the finance committee.
- 7 Procure books in sufficient quantities well ahead of the beginning of each academic semester.
- 8 Provide and maintain the reading room facility for study and research.
- 9 Provide and maintain Internet access facilities for users in the library.
- 10 Manage the library operations utilizing a specialized Library Management System.
